Dear Clients and Referral Partners,

This morning, we issued our July 2022 client e-newsletter. If you did not receive it by email, please see the below link to open it in full PDF form from our website.

Articles in the July 2022 edition month cover the following topics:

  • The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall on 10 different models of bedrails, after three deaths in nursing homes and assisted car facilities. Check your rails and get rid of them immediately if you have one of the bad models.
  • If you have waited beyond your full retirement age to begin collecting Social Security benefits, you can ask for up to six months of back payments. But there are several key factors to weigh to determine if the immediate cash benefit is worth it in the longer term.
  • While Medicaid helps pay for nursing home care, being admitted to a nursing home as a Medicaid recipient is not always easy. There are several ways to navigate the process, depending on your situation – but care is needed to get in the home you want, and not get entangled in pay arrangements that obligate heirs for the cost of care.

Hopefully these July 2022 articles prove interesting and informative. This newsletter – in whatever form your receive it – along with our website at ElderLaw.us, and our Facebook page are all intended to share timely Elder Law news with you.

As always, our office is available as your principal resource to answer specific questions and deal with your individual legal circumstances. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for help. Reach us by phone at 614-407-7900 or by sending us an email at [email protected].

Richard F. Meyer, Esq.
