We’ve released the April newsletter from R.F. Meyer & Associates.
Articles in the new edition address topics including Medicare, Medicaid, retirement savings choices and a new federal law aimed at cutting abuse of the elderly. To wit:
- Medicare recipients should be on the lookout for new Medicaid Cards from the government, and should be wary of new card-related scams;
- Transfers of assets within five years of applying for Medicaid can invoke a penalty period. How do you prove you made the transfers for purposes other than to qualify for Medicaid?
- The choice of beneficiaries for your IRA, SEP or 401(k) can have significant tax implications. Here’s a whole article on the rules and concerns about the choices.
- A new federal law is designed to address the growing problem of elder abuse. The article addresses what’s in the law and the efforts to raise awareness of elder abuse – both financial and physical.

Our new offices at R.F. Meyer & Associates are just a few buildings down West Wilson Bridge Road from our former location, and still in Worthington’s Officescape Corporate Center. We believe the new location will be easier to find and provide better access for our clientele with mobility issues. Disabled parking spaces are numerous at the front entrance, leading to an easy-access wheelchair ramp, and parking in general is more plentiful.
