Yesterday, we released R. F. Meyer & Associates’ May 2026 client e-newsletter. If you did not receive it by email, please find a link below to open it in PDF form from our website.

The three articles this month cover:

  • A new study of 1,000 families with a child caring for an aging parent, details changes underway in how American society handles this situation. But expectations remain that the oldest daughter is expected to lead the care.
  • Though one in 10 older Americans suffer from it, dementia – contrary to popular belief – is not a natural part of aging. Emerging studies show early detection and treating known contributors may help prevent the condition.
  • A new federal agreement allows government attorneys to seek legal guardianship over homeless veterans deemed unable to make their own health care decisions. Supporters argue this policy is a necessary “lifeline” to move incapacitated veterans out of hospital limbo, while critics warn it is a serious threat to the veterans’ civil liberties and autonomy.

We hope you find our May 2026 articles interesting and informative.
