Happy New Year and welcome to the January 2023 newsletter from R. F. Meyer & Associates. We begin another trip of this Earth around the sun this month with some good Elder Law information to share with you.

Earlier this morning, we issued our January 2023 newsletter. If you did not receive it by email, please see the link below to open it as a PDF document.

This month’s articles concern Medicaid patients’ spousal income regulations, how to handle Medicare claim denials, and details of the recent expansion of Medicare to cover medically necessary dental care:

  • The Centers for Medicaid Services (CMS) has released the 2023 federal guidelines for how much money the spouses of institutionalized Medicaid recipients may keep, as well as related Medicaid figures.
  • If Medicare refuses to cover your care, do not assume this means you will have to take on the financial burden.
  • In November 2022, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced that Medicare coverage will be expanded to include medically necessary dental services.

I hope you find our January 2023 newsletter articles informative and interesting. Should you have questions about any Elder Law, Estate Planning or Probate issue, contact us for help. Reach our Worthington law offices by calling 614-407-7900, sending email to [email protected], or just fill out the contact form on our website at elderlaw.us/contact.

Sincerely,
Richard F. Meyer, Esq.
