Earlier today, we released R. F. Meyer & Associates’ August 2025 e-newsletter.  If you did not receive it by email, please find a link below to access it in PDF form from our website.

We’ve got three interesting articles for you this month, covering:

  • A new Social Security rule may require recipients to travel to a local office to change their addresses or direct deposit bank account information, if they can’t navigate a multistep, multifactor verification process online to prove their identity and obtain a one-time PIN code.
  • The proposed Choose Medicare Act would add a new “Part E” to Medicare, a public-option version of Medicare that would be available to all individuals and employers as an alternative to private insurance – without requiring participants to be 65 years old.
  • Americans are living longer and that’s a good thing. But it also puts a finer point on some well-known facts: Medicare doesn’t cover long-term care, and Medicaid does only after you spend down your savings to a poverty level.

I hope you enjoy these waning days of summer through August 2025. Look for our next newsletter in September.

If you need help with Estate Planning or Elder Law issues at any time, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our experienced staff at R. F. Meyer & Associates.
