I still remember the Estate Planning Session you helped our KofC Council with at St. Joan of Arc Council. We had it after Saturday evening mass and sponsored a pot luck dinner. You did an outstanding job on the value of estate planning. However, as I walked out after the meeting, I turned to Mary and said, “I don’t think we will ever need Dick Meyer’s services as our estate will never approach the size or be as complicated as he has described.”

It was less than six months later when my father passed away. The only person I knew capable of handling his affairs and my mother’s well care was you. From the day I introduced my mother to you, and you began to evaluate the necessary and required steps, it has been nothing but a pleasure knowing you and your staff are handling the details. I often think of the foresight you had regarding my mother’s concerns and her wishes. You put into place a Family Partnership to allow us to properly care for her and helped preserve some of the hard work that my parents assembled during their lives together. You did not stop here but continued to provide the necessary guidance to ensure things were properly set in place. Your estate plan for my mother, her living will and power of attorney documents were excellently prepared. Again, I thought that I would never be called upon to act on her behalf. How little I knew. The day was soon upon us and fortunately for your insight, the necessary documents were in order to allow us to help and guide her final days. We watched over her for nearly five years of her life.

Again, you did not stop with my mother’s estate. You were kind enough and guided Mary and I to assemble our estate plan. It was not long before I needed surgery and Mary felt comfortable that she had in-place the necessary documents to make the necessary decisions should something unthinkable happen during the surgery. I am ever so grateful to have you occasionally review and update our estate plan. Your forethought has put our minds at ease as we are confident that the necessary documents are in order to help us through life’s adventure. We certainly know who to call when the need arises as your firm will have the expertise and knowledge to properly guide our final wishes. I cannot thank you, Bridget Hunsinger and the entire staff enough for your excellent and professional legal services. I wish your entire staff the very best.

The flower arrangement you sent for Helen’s funeral were just beautiful. While I had a much more difficult time dealing with her loss, I must admit the final arrangements, communications with Medicaid and long term care facility was easy due to the thoughtfulness and completeness in which your firm had prepared all of the necessary documents.
